Filip Pardej is a 25-year old multi-instrumentalist from Masurian Lake District in Poland currently based in Manchester studying at the Royal Northern College of Music with Bryan Hargreaves (Ben E King, Brian May, M People, The Temptations) and Luke Flowers (Cinematic Orchestra, Corinne Bailey Rae, Bill Laurance).

His musical taste is incredibly diverse, with strong influences coming from the 70s rock and blues scene, funk, soul, jazz, hip-hop, and progressive rock. Together, these are the foundation for the musician he is today. Currently, his work is focused on developing his sound - studying drum kit at the music college, creating original music with flamenco fusion ensemble 'Raices de Flamenco’ that had its debut at the RNCM’s Opera Theatre for the Composers Lab Week event, which led to coaching from acclaimed cellist Abel Selacoe. His second activity is the original progressive pop band 'Mothertongue, along with many other collaborative projects.

He has performed on over 100 gigs across UK and Poland and events such as the International Harley-Davidson Meeting, KPS Hip-Hop Festival, ‘Pisz’ Music Festival, ‘Glodowo’ Jazz Festival and venues like Band on the Wall, Matt and Phreds, Ruby Lounge, and Rebellion in Manchester. In 2017 he recorded the album with progressive pop band ‘Mothertongue’ in Mnwc studio in Hebron, Wales. This recording was released by Bad Elephant Music in 2018.

Filip started to study classical music on flute when he was 8-years old, then moved on to play percussion and drums in his family band. When he reached 17 years old he moved away from his family home to the United Kingdom, when he was looking for opportunities to study and play music around London and Manchester. Two years after, he graduated from Music Production Course at Manchester College which led his way to study at a music conservatoire.

He aims to continue education in music from the best in this craft, collaborate with as many productive and talented people as possible, and to be an independent, unique and creative artist focusing on making creative content that inspires others. Another aspiration is to travel the world and meeting, playing and learning with musicians from places like Cuba, Africa, Jamaica, and India.

"Filip is a very courteous, polite, and punctual student.  As a musician, he is creative and adaptable. Filip generates parts that are surprising and unique, and is committed to doing his best for the music wherever he can."

Bryan Hargreaves - RNCM Musicianship and Drum Teacher

"Having known and worked with Filip for the last 18 months I have been repeatedly, pleasantly surprised by his musical drive and intuition. In the course of our work together, Filip first worked under great time pressure to fill the role left by a departing member of a busy working band, showing great technical prowess in replicating already written and recorded music to ensure his fellow musicians were able to continue performing through a busy schedule without any disruption.

His love and respect for music is evident in his approach to his playing, and he is dedicated to any ensemble which whom he plays, whether he

is sitting in on an ad-hoc improvisation session or efficiently learning intricate, pre-written parts for the purposes of live performance and recording."
